Recently
tried to help a friend whose PC had a problem at boot-time with the
system's intermittently stalling right after showing the message
"verifying dmi pool data"
Could NEVER get it to fail for
me, but the next day it was back to its old tricks. He took it back
to the shop that built it, and they claimed to have traced the
problem to the hard-drive's being flaky. Sinice the problem was
intermittent, they were able to save ALL of the system and data
(following an intermittently successful boot) and install it onto a
new hard-drive. It hasn't failed since, so they must've gotten to the
root of the problem -- and they added a GIG of memory while they had
it open, which is always a good idea.

your digital thermometer is like mine, it never shows 80-deg-F. This
is apparently due to their basically working in whole degrees
Centigrade which, when converted to Fahrenheit and rounded, manages
to skip the 80 value: 26-C rounds to 79-F and 27-C rounds to
